Please rate and review, I worked very hard on this one. Enjoy :)
Check for it this father's day Sunday.
It's a tribute to my father, Patrick M. Reames.
This is my first full length solo, so I've put everything I got into it.
Really anyone that has lost anyone in their life will really feel this track I think.
Looking forward to sharing it to the world!
Another new solo coming this week!!!!
New Burly & Dex coming too!
I don't do this for you, I do this for me. To keep me focused and making sure I get songs done. Dex and I have really been dropping the ball in terms of getting our shit out to you guys. Get ready! It's going to be hot. ;)
Solo can be found here > http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/lis ten/244864
Thank you so much Gram for the Judgment beat I used. If anyone wants to hear/use it, it can be found on Gram's page at http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/lis ten/241254
Hope you guys are ready for this year. I know I am ;)
Well, last week ended up being extremely busy, so I didn't get to touch the song. I'm going to try to get it this weekend. We'll see, I'm being very perfectionist about this one. It's the kind of song I wouldn't want to leave this world without making first. Yes, that important. I'll let everyone know when it releases, just letting you know I didn't forget about you!
It's been over 5 months since Hardships released.
Since then I've had fun working with Dex on "Deceitful Conscience", "This World", "10th November", and others still in the works.
Also after 8 months of unemployment and running scarecly low on funds, I landed my first career job as an artist at the turn of the new year...but not a hiphop artist, as an animator for a game company by the name of Conduit Labs.
So everything is going pretty amazing right now. Still hard to believe I'm doing what I do for a living and that I'm not living check to check anymore. I could literately feel the weight being lifted off my shoulders. I've been able to be much more creative with my mind uncluttered.
What this means for you is, more songs. I'm also now going to be mixing and mastering all future Burly&Dex songs, meaning they will be put through my perfectionist craziness and be released more quickly than before.
So in light of all this. I'm dropping a new song this week. It is a dedication to my one and only sister. If you don't like it, I don't give a sh*t, but I'm sure you will like it. :)
EDIT: This new track isn't taking months like the last one, it's only been in production for almost a week. The large production time frame of "Hardships" was due to hardships (lol), and finding my flow and lyrical style over that time period.
Never before has the line between mainstream hip hop and true hip hop been so clearly defined. Grouch and Eligh's 3rd collaboration album, Say G&E is nothing less than a masterpiece. You'd be hard pressed not to find at least one song that connects with anyone that has heard any music before. This album isn't oldschool, it's not newschool, it's hiphop 110%. This is the direction hiphop needs to go. Take it back to the essence, but build on that and do something different with it.
2009 is shaping up to be one of the best years for hiphop in recent memory. Artists other than Grouch & Eligh releasing albums this year include The Crest, Illogic, Abstract Rude, CunninLynguists, Mr. SOS, Swollen Members, Weerd Science, and probably more that I can't think of or don't know about yet.
I've recently picked up how to use flash for my work. I'll be submitting flash movies soon!
I currently get paid as a 3d animator, but now I can do 2d as well.
This is gonna be awesome!
Dex and I are back in on track and kick'n facts.
Check Dex's page or my "favorite audio" for the new releases. And if you haven't heard any of our songs yet, please take a peak and rate at your own will.
After hearing some of the stuff we got in production. I'm am confident in saying we're pushing forward in a big way.
2009 is just getting started.
